o To become a fearsome ranger, you need
  to master the skills of missile weapons
  and melee combat. This means having
  a good bow, a good melee weapon, and
  good armour, along with high agility
  and physical toughness.
o High agility means you will need high
  Dex (for good ranged power) and Str (
  for bonus bow damage).
o Physical toughness means you will need
  high Str (for good attacking power) and
  Con (for many hitpoints) stats. Look
  for "potions of Strength/Constitution".
  Try to get items that speed up your
  health-regeneration too.
o Bows will be very important for killing
  enemies from afar. You can change how
  your bow shoots with the "bowmode"
  command. To change bowmode, type ' then
  "bowmode normal", "bowmode threewide",
  "bowmode spreadshot", or "bowmode precise".
  It is recommended that you bind these
  commands so you can switch firing modes
  on the fly.
o Getting lots of arrows will be important
  for you. Visit the Bow shop in Scorn and
  use the gold to arrow table to purchase
  arrows. You can mark specific arrows or
  quivers to fire with by typing "mark arrows".
o Weapons will be very important for you.
  Note that every weapon has certain
  "attacktypes". Most monsters are vulner-
  able to one or two attacktypes. Search
  for artifact weapons and experiment with
  different weapons on different monsters.
o You should know that there are ways to
  enchant ordinary weapons.  However, it
  tends to be very costly.
o It can be helpful to advance at least a
  very little bit in divine magic. Spells
  for healing, curing and protections can
  save your life more than once.
o Use resist. potions to level up quickly.
o Feeling strong already? Hah - You're
  a greenhorn unless you can at least
  kill a titan with one hit!
